History of a legacy
Gestamp Foundation was established to continue driving Gestamp’s positive impact, which dates back more than 25 years, and take it even further. Its history can be traced to its founder, Francisco Riberas Pampliega, who created Gonvarri in 1967 through hard work and personal ambition. Although those were difficult times with limited resources, the solid values have withstood the test of time.
Gestamp emerged 40 years later with a clear mission: to continue delivering value and innovation to clients, always staying true to the Founder’s principles and values. This focus has paved the way for many years of success between the company and local communities, where people have always been the most important aspect.
This legacy of generosity, honesty and determination inspired the creation of Gestamp Foundation and is the best model to continue helping people grow through its actions and initiatives.
At Gestamp Foundation, we work to preserve the history and journey of the Gestamp Group since its beginnings. This legacy, based onvalues such as generosity, commitment and perseverance, is the source of inspiration that guides every step of our projects.
Letter from the president
Since our beginnings at Gestamp as a local stamping supplier, we have worked alongside our customers, accompanying them in their globalization, helping them to develop increasingly safe and efficient vehicles and offering them innovative solutions to meet the many challenges facing the automotive sector.
As a result, we have become a global leader in the development and manufacture of metal components, with a presence in 24 countries and a diverse, multicultural team of more than 40,000 people. Two years ago, we launched Gestamp Foundation, a key milestone in our history as a family business. This institution embodies our long-term vocation and our commitment to the social and economic progress of the local communities where we operate. As we close this financial year, I would like to share with you all the satisfaction and pride I feel in seeing how, through Gestamp Foundation, we continue to promote the legacy based on the values of my father, who founded this business group. His vision was to create a company that would grow through innovation, excellence, and responsibility, understood also as progress for society. His principles and values are present in the actions carried out by Gestamp Foundation and serve as a roadmap for us to amplify the positive impact of the initiatives we undertake.
The automotive sector is currently undergoing unprecedented transformation. Digitalization, energy transition, the emergence of new technologies and the struggle to attract and retain talent are just some of the challenges we face as a society and which are redefining production models and the professional skills needed to address them. In this context, Gestamp Foundation has focused its efforts this year on what we consider essential for the future: education and digital training linked to the future employability of youth. Committing to the employability of the younger generations is not only key to a country’s economic development, but above all to generating real opportunities for progress for individuals, their families, and society as a whole.
