RURALBOTIC
Gestamp Foundation, in collaboration with ASTI Foundation, launches RuralBOTic, a project aimed to generate opportunities in the rural environment through robotics.
Five schools in the province of Burgos participate in this initiative in which students and teachers will have the opportunity to get started in robotics and programming.
The program, which will run throughout the school year 24/25, begins with the delivery of robotics kits to the children and a training to the teachers of the centers. Throughout the year they will work in the classrooms on a final project that will be presented during an event that will take place in May.
This project has the dual objective of promoting digitalization among young people, as a transformative tool, and generating opportunities in the rural environment.
As part of the initiative, students from the participating schools will visit the Edscha Burgos production plant, where they will learn about the application of robotics in a manufacturing plant of the automotive sector. This experience will allow them to connect theory with practice, seeing the relevance of STEM skills in the industrial field.
Furthermore, a special meaning for Gestamp Foundation lies in the fact that the project is being carried out in Burgos, as the founder of the Gestamp Group was born in Rabé de las Calzadas, one of the towns linked to the initiative.
