GESTASKILLS

GestaSkills is a social initiative promoted by the Gestamp Foundation, in collaboration with the Empieza por Educar Foundation, whose objective is to encourage motivation among Basic Vocational Training students and contribute to reducing school dropout rates, especially among young people in vulnerable situations.

In 2026, the project celebrates its third edition with an updated format that broadens its scope and impact. After two editions focused on supporting and developing students’ skills, GestaSkills is evolving towards a more dynamic and participatory model that is open to a greater number of students and educational centers.

This year, the program is structured in three main phases.

The first includes workshops for students, in which Gestamp professionals participate as volunteers in face-to-face meetings with the ten educational centers involved. These workshops bring the world of work closer to 2nd-year Basic Vocational Training students and offer them guidance, professional role models, and support in making decisions about their educational and professional future.

The second phase incorporates training for teachers in educational innovation methodologies, including the pedagogical use of artificial intelligence and approaches inspired by design thinking, with the aim of strengthening motivation, creativity, and active learning in the classroom.

Finally, the program will culminate on March 6 with the first Basic Vocational Training Olympics, a pioneering event that will bring together the ten participating schools around various practical challenges. This event will promote coexistence and teamwork, as well as highlighting the skills developed during the program and showcasing the talent and effort of the students.
