GESTASKILLS

The GestaSkills project is a social initiative aimed at students in Basic and Secondary Vocational Training, with the aim of promoting their motivation and reducing school dropout rates. It was created by Gestamp Foundation, in collaboration with the Empieza por Educar Foundation, an organization committed to educational equity through development and leadership programs.

After the success of its first edition, GestaSkills is now celebrating its second edition, consolidating itself as a key program to support students in Basic and Intermediate Vocational Training, with special attention to vulnerable groups, where the school dropout and failure rate is especially high. In this edition, 25 students from Basic Vocational Training and 57 from Middle Vocational Training will participate, expanding the impact of the program.

The project is carried out at the Padre Piquer Training Center in Madrid, with students from the 2nd Basic Vocational Training Cycle in Electricity and Electronics and Administration, as well as Administrative Management, Telecommunications Installations and Care for People with Dependency in Secondary Vocational Training.

The workshops are designed to provide key tools in assertive communication, personal development, job placement and occupational risk prevention, aimed at their academic and professional growth.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from personal and professional references, thanks to the participation of Gestamp volunteers. Through workshops and interactive sessions, professionals will share their experience in the working world, offering guidance on employability, professional development and future opportunities.

As part of the program, students will visit Gestamp Toledo, where they will be able to learn first-hand about the operation of a plant and its work environment, thus complementing their learning with practical experience in the industrial sector.
