GESTASKILLS
The GestaSkills project is a social initiative aimed at basic vocational training students. The objective is to motivate students and prevent them from dropping out. It was designed by Gestamp Foundation and Fundación Empieza por Educar to achieve educational equity through educational leadership and development programs.
The two organizations have created the GestaSkills project to create opportunities for basic vocational training students, focusing on vulnerable groups, in which the dropout rate is exceptionally high.
The GestaSkills project takes place at the Centro de Formación Padre Piquer in Madrid with second-year basic vocational training students in the fields of Electricity, Electronics and Administration.
Gestamp employees volunteer in workshops to share with students their perspective of the workplace, employability and future career opportunities. Students also visit Gestamp Toledo to see firsthand the day-to-day operations of a factory.
