For two weeks, the Gestamp Technology Institute (GTI) training center in Mexico hosted the ‘Yo Hablo Código’ bootcamp for the first time. This initiative, driven by Gestamp Foundation in collaboration with Code.org, introduces children ages 8 to 14 to coding, fostering digital skills and early interest in STEAM careers.
Participants explored the fundamentals of computational thinking through hands-on activities, programming basics, and the use of Edison robots and Microbit boards. This approach allowed them to dynamically discover how technological solutions are developed and applied in everyday life.
The bootcamp concluded with the celebration of Gestamp Day, where participants toured GTI Mexico’s facilities to see how programming is integrated into industrial processes in the automotive sector. The event ended with project presentations to families and Gestamp team members, showcasing the skills and knowledge gained throughout the program.
With this first international edition, Gestamp Foundation broadens the impact of ‘Yo Hablo Código,’ which has already trained children across various Gestamp facilities in Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Valencia—reinforcing its commitment to digital education, innovation, and nurturing future talent.
