On June 5, GTI Bilbao hosted a new edition of the Formula Student Teams Meeting, an initiative supported by Gestamp Foundation throughout the current season. The event brought together students from seven Spanish universities, automotive industry professionals, and Gestamp Foundation volunteers.

Mónica Riberas, General Director of Gestamp Foundation, opened the session by welcoming the participants and emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talent and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.

During the morning, each team presented the progress made on their single-seater vehicles and shared the challenges they encountered throughout the development process. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow teams and exchange key learnings and experiences ahead of the upcoming summer competitions.

The program continued with a roundtable discussion featuring former Formula Student team members who are now part of Gestamp: Inés Rodríguez, Gorka Martín, Luis Barreiro, and Carlos Martínez. They reflected on how the Formula Student experience shaped their early careers and how they now apply those lessons in their professional roles at the company.

Participants also took part in a guided tour of Gestamp’s facilities, gaining first-hand insight into the group’s innovation and development processes.

The day concluded with three thematic sessions led by Gestamp experts: one focused on career opportunities and talent development in the automotive sector; another on innovation and sustainability (ESG); and a third on digitalization and connected industry.
