With the purpose of connecting the university environment with the business sector, the Formula Student teams of the Gestamp Foundation met at the R&D Center in Barcelona.

During the day, the students had the opportunity to reunite with their mentors, meet professionals from the automotive sector and share ideas with the rest of the teams.

After the presentation of each of the Gestamp Foundation Teams, a panel was held on “The Present and Future of Mobility”, during which the students were able to share the challenges they face, their perspective on collaboration with the business world and their expectations for the future of the sector.

Then, divided into groups, a visit was made to the Gestamp Abrera plant, where they were able to understand and see up close the manufacturing processes and the latest advances in innovation of the company. 

Finally, two workshops related to Industry 4.0 and innovation in electric vehicles were conducted by Gestamp experts.

Through this meeting, the teams have had the chance to get to know each other, connect with the automotive sector in a new way and get their batteries recharged before their next race in Montmeló, which will take place in August. Over the last few months, the students have designed and built a racing car, developing interpersonal skills such as cooperation, commitment, teamwork and perseverance, values to which the Foundation is committed.
