During the week of August 1st to 7th, the Formula Student Spain competition, organized by the Society of Automotive Technicians (STA) took place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Gestamp Foundation accompanied its seven teams-FS Bizkaia, BCN eMotorsport, ISC Racing Team, MAD Formula Team, Tecnun eRacing, FSUPV Team and Uvigo Motorsport-in the various stages of the event.

After a year of hard work on the design and construction of their single-seaters, the teams participated in static and dynamic testing to ensure the quality and safety of the vehicles. Although recent trends are leaning towards electric and autonomous vehicles, the competition is organized into several categories: electric vehicles, combustion vehicles, electric autonomous vehicles and combustion autonomous vehicles.

Static tests included business plan presentation, cost and manufacturing analysis, and design evaluation while dynamic testing focused on events such as skidpad (figure-eight track), acceleration, autocross (one-kilometer track) and endurance (22-kilometer track).

Formula Student has established itself as the most important student motor racing competition in Europe. The Gestamp Foundation continues to support the combination of practical engineering experience with essential skills such as leadership, teamwork and project management.
