Students from the Padre Piquer Training Center visited the Gestamp Toledo facilities as part of the GestaSkills project, an initiative led by Gestamp Foundation in collaboration with Empieza por Educar. A total of 85 students enrolled in Basic Vocational Training (FPB) and Intermediate Vocational Training (FPM) programs had the opportunity to learn about the operations of a production plant and the technologies used in the manufacturing process.
During the visit, students were introduced to the automotive sector and learned about Gestamp as a company. They explored various departments and roles within the plant, as well as the advanced technologies used in the production of automotive components.
In addition, the students participated in a Health and Safety Workshop, where they learned about the company’s safety measures and its strong culture of risk prevention. The day concluded with a guided tour of the facilities, allowing the students to observe the production processes in real time.
These activities are part of the GestaSkills project, which aims to boost student motivation and help prevent early school dropout. In addition to the visit to Gestamp Toledo, the project has included workshops with Gestamp volunteers and a final challenge in which students presented an electronic prototype developed throughout the school year.
