Gestamp Foundation supports the Formula Student international competition by working with teams from seven Spanish universities, thereby adding a social focus to the connection that Gestamp has had with the competition since 2015, by highlighting attributes such as innovation and teamwork.

Formula Student, also known as Formula SAE in certain countries, is an international competition that allows university students to participate in an actual professional experience within the automotive industry. The teams design, create, and build a single-seater race car, combining hands-on engineering experience with interpersonal skills such as business planning and project management.

In this edition, Gestamp Foundation has supported a total of seven universities from the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Basque Country, Valencia and Vigo. The following groups are already finalizing their proposals to compete in the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit with the support of the Foundation:

– BCN eMOTORSPORT (Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña)
– FORMULA STUDENT BIZKAIA (University of the Basque Country)
– eRACING TECNUN (University of Navarra)
– FSUPV TEAM VALENCIA (Polytechnic University of Valencia)
– UVIGO MOTORSPORT (University of Vigo)

In addition to the economic aid the teams receive from the Foundation and valuing the automotive knowledge of the industry, Gestamp professionals share their expertise with students through a mentorship program. This way, Gestamp employees volunteer their time to give teams technical and professional advice on aspects that may be useful for building their vehicles.
