The GestaSkills Project, focused on basic vocational training students, concluded its first edition with a closing ceremony and the presentation of the final projects in the GestaSkills Challenge. The event hosted 2nd year students of Electricity and Electronics, and Administration degrees from the school in Madrid, accompanied by volunteers from Gestamp Foundation, who worked as mentors during the workshops.

During the GestaSkills Challenge, the students had the opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned, presenting a motion sensor for vehicles that they had designed and worked on during the course.

The students, organized in groups, explained to their classmates and teachers the teamwork process and the steps taken to assemble the device. In addition, they showed the final product and the promotional web page they designed.

Afterwards, the students, accompanied by volunteers from Fundación Gestamp, had to face the final challenge. Each team had to come up with solutions to improve the safety of vehicles for low-income groups using these smart sensors. The teams presented their strategies for pricing, promotion and sales alliances to a board of judges made up of representatives from Fundación Gestamp, Empieza por Educar and the Padre Piquer School.

Finally, Mónica Riberas, director of Fundación Gestamp, and Beatriz Morilla, director of Empieza por Educar, wrapped up the event with a farewell speech. Both congratulated the students for their work throughout the project and highlighted the evolution they had experienced during the course. They also showed their gratitude for the role of the Gestamp volunteers during the workshops, the visit to Gestamp Toledo and the final challenge.

Through initiatives such as GestaSkills, the Gestamp Foundation is committed to promoting vocational training among youth as a way to develop their skills and professional growth.
