09.10.2026
On 8 October, Fundación Gestamp held the closing event for Movimiento por la Inclusión, a project developed alongside Fundación Randstad to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities through training and support.
The event took place at Fundación Randstad’s Hub in Madrid, bringing together participants and volunteers to share their experiences and recognise the effort made throughout the programme. It included the presentation of forklift operator licences and a roundtable discussion on what this opportunity had meant to those involved.
25 people took part in this edition: ten students in forklift operator training in Madrid, ten in Barcelona and five in training to obtain a driving licence. This initiative aims to provide access to practical tools that can broaden their employment prospects and foster their Independence
Training connected to the workplace
The programme complemented the training with plant visits and workshops covering areas such as occupational health and safety, logistics, Human Resources, Communication and Marketing.
These activities gave participants an insight into the industrial environment and different areas of work at Gestamp. Contact with the company’s professionals strengthened the connection between their training and its application in a real working environment.
The project benefited from the participation and support of the teams at Gestamp Abrera and Gestamp Toledo, alongside the volunteers who supported the students throughout this edition.
Experiences from those involved in the project
The closing roundtable gave two participants the opportunity to share their perspectives: one from the forklift operator training and another from the driving licence programme. Both spoke about their experiences and explained what access to this opportunity had meant to them.
Iñigo Teijeiro, a Fundación Gestamp volunteer, spoke about his involvement in the project and what he had gained from supporting the students. His contribution offered an insight into the initiative from the perspective of those who dedicate part of their time to supporting other people’s development.
In total, the programme involved 17 volunteers, who contributed 80 hours of volunteering. Their commitment helped bring Gestamp’s professional expertise closer to participants and supported them throughout their training.
Mobility to broaden employment opportunities
Fundación Gestamp sees mobility as a driver of opportunity and a tool for promoting inclusion. From this perspective, Movimiento por la Inclusión connects mobility with access to employment: forklift operator training and preparation to obtain a driving licence help strengthen the independence of people with disabilities and broaden their career prospects.
Through its collaboration with Fundación Randstad and the involvement of Gestamp’s teams, Fundación Gestamp reinforces its commitment to workplace inclusion and training that responds to people’s needs. The closing event recognises the participants’ work and the support of everyone who helped make this edition possible.
