Gestamp Foundation has joined the Alliance for Vocational Education and Training, an initiative led by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training aimed at strengthening VET as a key route to youth employability and the development of the industrial sector.

This agreement brings together companies, trade unions and social organizations with the goal of consolidating a VET model that is aligned with the needs of the labor market. The Alliance is part of the Vocational Training Modernization Plan, within the broader framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which allocates nearly €9 billion to improving education and vocational training in Spain.

Through this collaboration, Gestamp Foundation will contribute to the development of training that is more closely connected to the business environment, enhancing the skills of future professionals in the industrial sector. The commitment to VET is essential to improving young people’s access to employment.

According to a study published by the Reina Sofía Centre of Fad Juventud in collaboration with Gestamp Foundation, 59% of young people in Spain view VET positively due to its high employability and swift access to the labor market. Furthermore, 36.9% of graduates secure employment within less than three months, while 22.1% do so within three to six months.

However, the study also highlights areas for improvement within VET. One in three young people reported not having received sufficient information about this educational option during primary and secondary school, limiting their ability to make informed decisions about their academic futures.

By joining the Alliance for VET, Gestamp Foundation reaffirms its commitment to an educational model that equips young people for the challenges of the industrial sector and supports their entry into the labor market.
